about carrots

Hebeliada Island is the greenest and most diverse of the Princess Islands in terms of vegetation. And it was known in the past as the island of “Halki”, which means “copper” in ancient Greek.

Hebeli Ada Island consists of four main hills; It is considered the second most visited of the Princesses Islands by tourist delegations, whether in the summer or winter. The population of the island during the winter is about 7 thousand people, while this number increases significantly during the summer. And with the calculation of visitors to the daily excursions witnessed by the island, its population reaches about 50 thousand people.

The island includes the Kamariotissa Church, which is the only Byzantine church on the island, and it is also the only church built in the shape of a clover flower outside Istanbul. The island also includes AyaYorgi Monastery and Tarik-i Dünya Monastery, one of the attractions worth visiting on the island.

The tombstone of the ambassador of British Queen Elizabeth I, Edward Barton, is the second remaining historical monument in the military part of the island.
